We partnered with Focus Features and Laika Studios to celebrate the artistry of Oscar-nominated “Kubo and the Two Strings.” Honoring the release of this fantastical feature-length animation, we launched an integrated, multi-platform campaign to bring together the symbiotic unbridled joy of fans and the magic of moviemaking.
Galvanizing our distinctive team of devoted fans and in-house staff, we co-curated a custom digital “Kubo” fanzine, evoking the magic of traditional zines but for the A.I. era, and released in tandem with a limited edition print version to commemorate the interactive exhibition “Laika Experience” at Universal Studios.
Harnessing the arts community and offering them a unique canvas with which to showcase their exciting talents, we captured the essence of Laika's mission through creative minds who actualized their “Kubo” visions through the medium of a digital platform. These creations were published across our social channels in bite-sized video morsels that resonated with our passionate, engaged audience, who continued the Kubo conversation, turning the fanzine into a responsive real-time entity.
